Introduction to Fair Oaks EcoHousing

Meeting and Site Tour

on Sunday January 26th

Fair Oaks EcoHousing will be a beautiful neighborhood of 30 homes on 3.7 acres in Fair Oaks, CA, 18 miles east of downtown Sacramento.  We're looking for the rest of our future neighbors! Come see the site and meet our members at an upcoming tour.

Meet at 10:30 am at the Fair Oaks Coffeehouse in Fair Oaks Village, located at 10223 Fair Oaks Blvd, at the intersection with Park Drive. Look for us in the building at the back. We will introduce you to the project and then we can carpool to the site, where we will be able to tour the available homes. (Please note that closed-toe shoes are required on site.)  The tour will last about an hour and a half, with an optional lunch afterwards at the Siam Patio Restaurant or the Smokey Oaks Tavern. Group members will lead the meeting.

Kids are welcome.

Act now! Fair Oaks EcoHousing has only a few homes left,  but we are taking names for our waiting list for all  floor plans. If you are interested, please come to the informational meeting and site tour. Other homes do become available on occasion. If you like what you hear at the meeting, please join our interest list to be notified of new availability.

Can't join us that day? A tour will also be offered on  Saturday Feb. 8th at 10:30 a.m.

Cohousing Film:

The Best of Both Worlds

on Saturday January 18

We are excited to announce that the new cohousing film “The Best of Both Worlds – Cohousing’s Promise” will have its World Premiere at the Wild & Scenic Film Festival, January 18, 2020, in Nevada City, California.

Filmmaker John De Graaf worked closely with architect Charles Durrett, who has designed many cohousing communities within the United States (including our very own Fair Oaks Ecohousing!). The film features many interviews with various cohousing developments to help bring awareness to this sustainable housing model, which offers a balance of privacy and community ("the best of both worlds").

The 27-minute film will be shown in the historic Nevada Theatre, 401 Broad St. in Nevada City, at 3:30 pm on Saturday, January 18th. You can buy tickets here! Choose the $20 Saturday Afternoon option. Be sure to arrive early, as we expect a crowd. We hope to see you there.
